You've got a nice gallery there, too. Great work

As an artist, we could learn a lot from crayons:
~Some are Sharp, some are dull,
Some are pretty, some have wierd names,
All of them are different colors,
Yet they all live together in the same box.~
You work in a nice variety of media and subjects, which is refreshing to see. Not to say it's bad to have a preferred subject, but the variety will help you develop faster as you face multiple and new challenges with each medium and subject.
Continue to study the structure of your subjects to help you better understand them and how to render them. Don't be afraid to go to the extremes with your values, it helps in creating depth, even with lighter colors.
Your puppet theme is really intriguing and it'll be interesting to see how it develops as both you and your art mature.
Best of luck in all your pursuits!

I still have not found myself comfortable with the values and color. Thanks for addressing it because your opinion makes it that much more important to tackle. I'm serious.
When viewing your wonderful gallery I often notice that my eye is left off the page. Continue to study composition because I think that will emphasize your marvelous artwork even more! In some of your pieces you do achieve emphasize through your wonderful use of color. Yet in some I feel like your creatures or animals are hiding or when my eyes try to focus on the main subject they veer off trying to follow the flow of your subjects movement.
This is something I too struggle and bit my thumb at.
I wish you too the best of luck in your artistic endeavors.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment as well! I am curious as to whether you see this in every piece, or if it is specific ones (if so, which). Composition is something I'll fight with forever (I don't really know any artist who doesn't to some extent), but I know that with some of my more recent work I've been cropping a lot, which has a tendency to push the viewer off the page irregardless. Motion does have a tendency to lead the eye off the page, perhaps I don't have a strong enough guide back to the subject, but I always try to keep my compositions fairly contained, but not necessarily simple.

I love your stuff and hope to see some more. Your work and technique with pastels is delightful. I have no idea how to work with that media.
Oh thank you very much. It's nice to know my work is appreciated! I've had quite a challenge and also a bit of fun learning how to get the pastels to work. They've quickly become my favorite medium even if they're a bit messy. It's definitely a medium you just have to dive into and get the feel of it.
